Third Party, Fire & Theft car insurance UK cover - insures you against fire or theft damage to your own car, or any damage you cause to other people and their property. This policy will give you protection for any damage caused to your vehicle through either theft or fire damage.  Of course, it will also cover any claims that arise from damage to other peoples property. 

Third Party Only car insurance UK cover - is lowest level of protection. You are covered for any damage you cause to other people and their property. Your car is not covered for any type of loss or damage to it. This form of policy is the minimum requirement in the UK.  Basically it covers any damage to other people vehicle or property.  However, it will not cover any cost associated with damage to your car.  It may be worth considering this option if your vehicle value is fairly low.
